Although our rescue was operated on an informal basis for a number of years, we
began to grow and were finally incorporated in July 2003, and received our
501(c)3 tax-exempt status shortly thereafter.
We do not operate a traditional kennel facility. All of the Dobermans in our rescue program are housed in approved foster homes - living as members of their foster families until permanent adopters come forward to give them "forever" homes. While in their foster homes, the dogs are evaluated for temperament, housetrained, crate-trained and taught basic manners. They are brought up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested (and treated if necessary) and any other correctable medical problems are addressed.
We have dedicated ourselves to rescuing Dobermans because we have an undying love for the breed, and we strive to save as many homeless Dobes as we possibly can. Our staff work tirelessly toward that goal. But the number of dogs we are able to save is directly dependent on public support by caring individuals who share our love for Dobermans.
Without public donations (no matter how small), foster families to assist in the temporary care of these unfortunate dogs, and adopters who are willing to give a special Doberman a second chance at a life of love and "belonging", we could not be successful in our endeavors.
We sincerely thank all of those who have helped, and continue to help, in our efforts to give EVERY Doberman a loving, caring PERMANENT home!
