Note regarding Dog Intake messages:
Please do not email us about shelter dogs unless you work for, or volunteer with, the shelter. We have a very good working relationship with the shelters in NC and they let us know when they have purebred Dobermans that need help (we are unable to take mixes). When we have space available, we try to help adoptable shelter dogs first. We also check Petfinders.com regularly so please do not email us about dogs on that site.
We know that your intentions are good, but we do not have the time to read/answer email from individuals about dogs they have seen on Petfinders or at their local shelters. We are inundated with email (often 20 or more about the same dog). If you really want to help, consider fostering a dog in your area or helping out at your local shelter. Searching for Dobermans in need and then forwarding repeated listings to rescues simply does not help.
