Meet Cassidy!

Hi! I'm Cassidy. I was adopted at the age of 8-9 months from the rescue last October. I made the front page of a magazine! Can you believe! The photo was taken in Florida two weeks after my adoption (we live in Maryland). A relative put me on the magazine. I'm a pretty girl, aren't I?

I have completed all the requirements necessary for a hearing dog guide tag.. the papers are being processed so I'm not sure when I will get the state tag. The requirements are just for the house and I will be training to do outdoor work now. Last week was my first training outdoors and, oh my gosh, my Mom said I did it so well. I was so impressive, Mom says.

We went to see the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival at Washington Mall (the outdoor strip of land between the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial). There, we went through exhibits and demonstrations, then we went to the museums and watched IMAX cinemas. I conducted myself very well and was friendly to people (last December when my mom took me to the Washington Mall to see the Christmas trees as a house pet, I was so nervous that I made other people nervous. I was not used to seeing soooo many people). This time a lot of people asked if it's ok to pet me (most people with guide dogs don't let other people pet us while we are at work, but Mom lets others pet me as long as they ask for permission) and I just loved being petted! I was a big hit! After the Mall, we went to a restaurant where I got some treats! Afterwards I was so pooped out that I slept most of the next day! I posed with Bermuda natives, Colonial soldiers, and Bermuda musicians in military uniforms. Mom said she will send the pictures so you can see me!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love, Cassidy
