Meet Hunter!

My name is Hunter and I came to live with my forever family in March 2006. Before I lived there, my family had another Doberman. They had to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge the year before. They thought they would be ok without a new dog for a little while, but they couldn’t make it. I now have a mommy, daddy and a girl and a boy to take care of. The first few days that I got to their house, I would follow them wherever I was allowed. I thought they might disappear if I closed my eyes, so I wouldn’t nap unless locked in my crate. Now, whoever is home with me makes sure that the blinds are open around the house so that I can rotate with the sun.

When I first got here, I was very afraid of trucks and busses. Now, most mornings and afternoons I go up the hill to let the kids go off in the bus. Mr. Buddy, the bus driver, loves dogs and has taught me that it’s not scary. He gives me treats every day, and I even climbed in the bus one day to get my treat.

I’m having a great time here with my new family. I get hugs and kisses every day. I get to chase squirrels, go for walks, and play, play, play. I even get to go hiking and have my own pack to carry my supplies.

Thanks, Cyndi, for taking care of me until I got to my forever home.
